St Ambrose Barlow Duathlon 2006
On the 27th of June 350 primary and secondary pupils from the South Sefton Sports Partnership cycled and ran their way around the athletics track at St. Ambrose Barlow Catholic College in the First Ever Duathlon at the school.
The Race was started by the TRI FOR LIFE team, who had stopped off at the school during their extreme triathlon, which included cycling from john O Groats to Lands End, swimming the English Channel and Running from Calais to Brussels.
The Young Leaders from St. Ambrose Barlow worked very hard to help organise and marshal the race as well as provide some extra sporting entertainment in the form of tug o' war and target golf competitions.
The young leaders presented the Fastest athletes from four age categories with their medals. However all participants were winners on the day by helping to make the inaugural St. Ambrose Barlow Duathlon a roaring success.
Those pupils who have discovered a real liking for multi sport now have the opportunity to enter the Sefton Triathlon held at Crosby Leisure Centre on Sat 8th July.
