A KOPITE has put in a bid of £1,000 for a place to play in the Liverpool side.

It is the first time during the auction that a Liverpudlian has tabled a four figure sum.

The second highest Reds bid stands at £650, with the third at £600.

AN IMPRESSIVE 33 bids have been tabled by fans wanting to play in our one off world record bid.

And Evertonians seem more willing to dig into their pockets than Liverpudlians.

The three highest Blue bids stand at £1,500, £1,000 and £1,000. There were a further 10 bids that were lower than £1,000 to play for the Toffees.

Meanwhile, the three highest Kopite bids were £650, £600 and £600.

But compared with the Blues there have been more offers from those wanting to play in red; with 17 bids that were lower than £600 to play for Liverpool.

The cut off date for bids is Friday January 15.

WE thank you for the fantastic response that we have had for our auctioned Everton and Liverpool squad places.

In the interests of fairness to all fans, here is an update of the current auction standings. The top three Blue bids are:

1 – £1,500

2 – £1,000

3 – £510

There have been a further eight bids to play for the Everton team at £500 each. 

The top three Red bids are:

1 – £600

2 – £600

3 – £550

There have also been a further 14 bids to play for the Liverpool side at £500 each.

The cut off date for all bids is Friday January 15. If you would like to submit further bids for a guaranteed place you are welcome to do so, but please note that no bids after this date will be counted.

It is the highest three bids at this stage that will be offered the guaranteed places subject to them accepting the payment agreement and attaining the minimum fitness requirements.

Your other option to attain a place is to come to the fitness assessment "boot camps" on January 17, 24 and 31 at Crosby's St Mary's College sports centre and compete with the others hoping to win one of the 10 places allocated through these trials.

THE total number of bids from fans wanting to play in our unique game of football has increased.

At the close on Monday the total stood at 16, but a further five supporters officially declared an interest with our organisers by the end of Tuesday.

And even though there have been more bids from Reds - 12 compared to the Blues' nine - the highest bid is still an Evertonian.

On Friday (January 8), an auction update will be available and the three highest bid amounts for both clubs will be published.

That means you will be able to see the amount you have to out bid for the chance to play in this one off world record attempt.
